I am not able to import ANYTHING into Davinci
resolve 17 latest 17.4.4. I drag and drop, get the copy + icon. but nothing happens. Import media does not work either. I have win 11 on a PC.A search with google comes up with nothing. Please some help, all of my project are stalled. Importing was working well before the update but quit while using that. I hoped that the new version would solve it but it did not.

Can you go back to version 16? My computer has problems with version 17 so I don't use it, and went back to version 16. If that doesn't work maybe go back to Win 10 and version 16. I generally don't upgrade to new software until I have to, to avoid bugs.

I went back to an earlier version of 17 and that did not help. The weird thing is It was working fine up until last week. Thanks for the reply.

Can you use the Windows restore feature where you can roll your PC back to a previous time before the trouble started? It should affect your software but not your data. Sometimes installing some new program or plugin or upgrade on the PC conflicts with what is there already, but is difficult to find.

I will see but all old programs of this one have been uninstalled.

I've started learning Resolve on a PC. There are multiple workflows for importing. Sodapop, can you describe what you are doing? Are the clips on a card? Have you moved them to your PC? Are you using the media tab or the edit tab?

I'm new enough to it that I won't have an answer, but I can try to duplicate what you are doing and see what works.

Dragging and dropping did not work. Import project did not work. Then after fooling with it for hours, it suddenly started to work. So I got to work on my project after all. I am afraid to try it again (LOL not really). I have been using Resolve for several years and not had this problem. I am using the latest version 17.4.4. I would be glad to try and help you with some of the other bumps I have encountered if you wanted.

Thanks. I've used Premiere Elements for a decade plus. More recently I have been learning Premiere Pro. I live in a retirement community with a TV station where there is a push on to use Resolve because it is free and cross platform.

For now, I don't need help but will certainly remember your offer of help! Thank you.
