It would be their worst nightmare, however I'm pretty sure they will get them aligned....hopefully.

That was a first shoot using one panel. Suppose to now take months to carefully align all the mirror segments. I don't believe there has been any problem yet.

I believe the mosaic was from the initial unaligned sightings from all 18 mirror segments. From this data the team will now begin to adjust each mirror segment to focus on the same place on the sensor in a looping procedure over the next several weeks. Seems just fantastic. --Richard
