FYI: When I purchased my 24-70, the data showed that the non-VR was a bit sharper than the VR model. Not sure whether this is still true, but perhaps something to investigate? Generally, VR becomes less important with wider-angle lenses.

I had a Tamron 24-70 on your Nikon 750 and still use it on my D500. I initially purchased a Nikon 24-70 and personally liked the Tamron better. Cost was not a factor. It would be nice if you could physically compare the two.
