I have tried over and over to get this nebula using RGB setting on my camera, but never succeeded. I finally got a reasonable pix using FITS format, saving as a BMP from the FITS viewer, then cleaning it up in Photoshop. It isn't the best, and I will probably try a couple more times with a couple other cameras to see if I can get it better.

Another neat shot. If you aim a bit higher you should be able to capture the dark cone (or Christmas tree nebula). It is on my to do list one I get some narrow band subs of the Rosette nebula.

It seems that your photo contains a lot more info than was showing on my monitor. So, I increased the gamma by quite a bit and got this photo. May my monitor is not calibrated correctly. --Richard
