Many wonderful images. Many images that I wonder how they became finalists. I've seen much better work in this forum, especially of birds. Blurry flight doesn't do a lot for me regardless of light or color.
All the photographs were quite beautiful, it did appear to me most of the photographs fit into three categories out of focus, silhouettes and over exposed.

I agree, I'm not mush of a photographer but I've seen a lot better on this site, saw only one that I would have as a keeper.
As scallihan pointed out, I have seen numerous wildlife photos right here that would equal many submitted for the prize. Most of the blurry out of focus BIF photos look like my everyday shots of BIF. Having said this, many I find to be incredible photos such as using the legs of an elephant to frame another elephant coming your way, the elk photo, the zebra surrounded by wildebeest, photos are examples. There are many more as well. Thanks for submitting the link to watch. I enjoyed it.

Enjoyed this--some creative images; thanks for sharing.
I have to agree with most of the comments above. Quite a few looked like snapshots- out of focus, blurred, or just difficult to see just what the heck they were. Finalist? I'm sure they won't make the cut.
I thought my eagle picture was a keeper.

I t sems they are going for something different this time.

They have these contest from time to time & I believe some photos I have seen on here would have a chance of winning. The contest in the past I have didn't have this type of (/ photoart???) in it as much. But I noticed they do look for clean photos in most cases. The subject in dust kicked up in early light type photo, I think would do good.

Thanks for sharing that. Inspirational. I have been a bit flat on my bird photography lately and needed some ideas to get me back at it. This was a kick start. It's not all about the subject and sharpness is it? There are lots of things that go into a great image. Making a recording is one thing, creating a photograph is another.
Hm. Not sure I get most of them. Maybe art? Not trying to be negative; but, think in my case I would have deleted them thinking they were not “keepers”.
I think these would do well on Facebook’s Crap Wildlife Photography page. I know I prefer my own amateur photos from S Africa over these.
Oddly enough, I just got an email from a friend who went on a Pangolin safari trip. They actually provide everyone with Canon L lenses and cameras!
The blurriness was starting to get to me. Looks sort of like some of my beginner shots of bifs.
I agree. Just out of curiosity, did anyone bother to attach the neck strap to those $$$$$$ cameras while dangling them over the water?
