Lots of us love collecting and using vintage hardware and that old saying "Beauty is only skin deep" definitely applies to used cameras. I recently bought a Pentax K2 that was immaculate on the outside but had a disintegrating mirror bumper. Since this was a camera I planned to use I contacted my favorite analog camera repair service, Abilene Camera Repair of Abilene, TX (
http://abilenecamera.com). ACR had previously worked wonders on an Olympus OM2n and Nikon F3 HP.
ACR's offers 3 levels of repair/refurbishment services. The OM2n got their full blown refurbishment service which includes photos of the disassembled camera. The F3 HP wasn't on the list of approved cameras but ACR added years to its life by replacing a gummy mirror bumper and rejuvenating its film door seals.
The site includes lists of approved cameras by manufacturer but they do offer limited service for cameras not on the lists. Prices are reasonable and I've always been delighted with the results.

Happens every time I take apart a laptop. I always end up with a couple of extra screws.
Thanks. I never would have parted with my Konica Autoreflex T had I known about this place.
I've been procrastinating and need to find a repair house that can work on my vintage Nikon SP body. Problem with the film advance. Better do it before, any repair guys bit the dust!
Be well!
