Florida Great Horned Owl (GHO)

This GHO (assumedly the male) was recently "found" locally and there is a nest with the assumedly female on it.

Hopefully there will be more/better photo opportunities as the further nesting develops ......the nest and perching is HIGH in a dense Southern Pine - so photographing is a challenge and mostly in low light shadow......

Canon 80D, Canon 400 prime W/1.4X II, (560mm) f8, ISO 800, 1/180 shutter from tripod, 50% crop .....

Great photo. I find it difficult to get that much surrounding light as a rule for my backyard owl shots.
