Hello alolewis, You have some very lovely photos here. Grand Teton are such a beautiful place to visit and photograph. There are some iconic shots that everyone has to get but the fun is finding images that are different but still reflect the character of the area.

By posting in this forum rather than the Photo Gallery, the assumption is that your looking for some feedback or suggestions on how you might improve your landscape images. So while I think your images are very well done, I'll try and give you my opinion and suggestions for you to consider for these images.

The very first suggestions are 1) when posting an image, please check the "store original" box when attaching your image file. This stores the original as you see in on your monitor. Otherwise, what's displayed is only a thumbnail (now a rather large thumbnail) and the colors and detail seldom match the original. 2) you may also want consider having your sensor cleaned. There are a number of sensor spots around your image and they show up in your sky and water reflections.

Here are some of my suggestions on your individual images. My discussion is based on the thumbnails only, so your originals may actually be different, negating anything I'm suggesting here.

1. This image looks like Oxbow Bend, just taken from a little different location making it a somewhat unique. You were out when the lighting was excellent and you had a nice pastel colored sky giving you excellent color contrast between the golden Tetons and the blue sky. Additionally, the afternoon wind was calm enough to get good reflections off the water. Overall, very nice subject, composition, lighting and focus. You might consider increasing the contrast a little, making the image 'pop' just a little more. This also improves some of the details in the mountains, which i would consider the subject. A little dodging in the trees on the right would accentuate some of the sunlight stiking them and finally consider cropping some of the water at the bottom of the image. There feels to be too much empty space at the bottom and you have some unwanted shrubs sneaking into the image. I tried a 16:9 crop giving it a pano feel and it seemed to work well.

2. This looks like its taken across Jenny Lake. This is another excellent image, beautiful light, subject and reflections. I also like how you framed the scene with the foreground trees. Compositionally, I would have moved one step forward and one to the right to center the image between the trees, centering the trees evenly on the left and right side of the image. But, cropping the left side brings back some balance. When cropping, you also have the opportunity to place the horizon on the centerline creating balance between the mountains and their reflections. Again you might consider increasing the brightness and contrast to add a little 'pop' to the image. Adding just a little bit of texture brings out some additional fine detail in the mountains.

3. Lovely sunset image of Schwabacher Landing and the Tetons. Since it was sunset, I assume the sky was your main subject. [I'm surprised at the low water level there]. Again a beautiful composition, with outstanding lighting. I just love the beautiful pastel colors of the sky. About the only thing I could suggest for this image would be, again, to increase the contrast just slightly. Even though the sun is behind the mountains, opening the shadows and adding a little texture on the mountains would add a little more detail and interest to the Tetons even though the sky is the main subject. You might consider softening the sky, removing some of the sharp structure gives it a soft calming feeling.

Again, these are only my opinions and based on the thumbnails only, YMMV. But I do hope that I gave you some ideas to consider, whether they work for you or not. If nothing else, it was a pleasure viewing and tinkering with your images. Thank you for posting them. I'm also attaching the images I played with before writing my thoughts down for you.
