Many remember Darth Vader's famous line in Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back as "Luke, I am your father". In reality, he says "No, I am your father".
This is a focus-stacked image of a Darkling Beetle. I posted an image of one's pupa the other day so I thought it would be fitting to show one as an adult. AND....what better way to introduce it that by its resemblance to Darth Vader, the Dark Lord, delivering the classic line to the young Jedi, Luke Skywalker.
It does resemble Darth Vader or Darth Vader resembles it. Nice work once again, sippy.
Thanks, Whatdat. Nice that you could stop by.

Thanks, Kpmac. The resemblance caught my eye when I first saw it.

Thanks, Longshadow. Glad you liked seeing it.
Awesome!! Come springtime I will have to send you one of the little critters that likes to invade this area...it's some kind of weevil...dark brown head and light brown body....would love to see what you would do with it. We all call them crunch bugs because when you smash one...it makes a crunch sound because of the hard light brown body.

Thanks, Cindy and it would be great to have specimens from other areas for I only have access to what I can find here locally. Of course, I dream of traveling the world's exotic places and climbing the trees of the rain forests in search of discovering a new species as the warm rains trickle down on me. Then I wake up only to find that my dog had been licking my face because he needed to go out.
Thanks, SX002. Here's hoping all is going well down your way.
