Tripods that Follow Movement

I've been seeing tripods that follow a subject as he moves. These are mostly for cell phones, but I've seen some for cameras. The ones I've seen are table-top models. Are these any good? With prices under $50, I have my doubts.

I own one of those. A tripod that follows movement. And it works great.
I call it the human body. With my left hand under the lens just behind the lens hood, my right hand holding the camera firm, the first leg of the tripod is my left elbow held against my body, my second leg of the tripod is my right elbow held against my body, the third leg of the tripod is the camera held against my eye or face, now my tripod moves left and right on three firm legs and can also track up and down in addition to left and right.
The only thing my tripod needs is food and rest. Works great, and is free, you should try it.

They work well enough...not any weight to move around really...

That will be next probably...sneak into big tripods...heck...why not!

They seem to work with cell phones. I found only one that has a screw for a camera.

The system that I am familiar with is PIXIO https://shop.movensee.com/en/ It is a tripod-mounted camera that follows action. You can set it up on the sideline of a game and it will follow the action.

I showed it to my Better Half and told her that we should get one for the bedroom. She told me that the battery would go dead from inaction.😷

I don't know if I can afford the maintenance costs of that piece of equipment. Especially because it wants to go to exotic and expensive locations. And use the tripod as an excuse.

We used these at school while we were running mixed virtual/in person classes so that we could be freed from just having to sit in front of the computer's webcam. They followed a combination target/microphone that you kept in your pocket. They worked sort of OK, but everyone got tired of them fairly quickly. Ours were not the $50 ones.
