Understaanding Noah's Boat

I think that was the whole intent of the ark. God was PO'd at the human race and decided to teach us a lesson. Unfortunately, it didn't take.

Yes, but only 2 & they were housed well above the waterline.

The writers needed a way to scare the hell out of people, literally. That and the threat of burning in fire and brimstone would get people's attention. Literalism can be a dangerous, divisive thing.
