Thank you for your kind words Ken... They are truly appreciated!
"...why did you choose f/16 ?" It was a "Test Exposure" and I had tons of excess illumination available...
I was shooting in the camera's basement ISO...
The short answer? DOF! I can never have too much Depth of Field for my studio work... and diffraction doesn't really kick in significantly until f/18... So I typically stay south of f/18.
That said if I'm shooting an assignment on location I'm typically wide open...
My long glass deals with this rather effectively... This loses background clutter completely... See Below
Good question Ken, what do you use for "Street"? Wide Open or Stopped down? Just curious
Hope this helps... All the best on your journey Ken

Thomas, I usually shoot at f/8. I guess I read about the refraction wide open, although, I never tested this feature, so I probably fell into the trap.

I must say that your portraits are stunning !!

Wishing everyone a fabulously successful 2022!
Cheers!
Lovely photo Thomas, & the subject is cute with “the deer in the headlights” look!
Keep having fun!

Thank you for your kind words Mike... They are greatly appreciated!
Yes Lindsey is truly an angelic cherub and as such highly motivational...
Our team was blessed by having her on set... See appears adorable from virtually every angle...
btw, loved you recent post of "More Clouds at Clark"
That pilot was very likely only VFR rated...
Appears that they where seriously not looking to go IFR at Clark :)
Again thank you for your service to our Country Mike...
We all are in your debt...
Cheers! Thomas
Beautiful work as always Thomas! I love how natural this one is pre-styled. Really shows her natural beauty. Two thumbs up!

Megan this angelic equestrian certainly needed no cosmetics to enhance her intrinsic radiant beauty.
Even more amazing is the way she commanded her Hunter/Jumper... this "waif-like” thin, petite, delicate and androgynous in appearance rider competed in the show at a level far beyond her tender years... The intensity in her gaze here speaks to her focused competitive aura.
She showed virtually no fear driving her horse confidentially through the jumps... as Hemingway once stated "Courage is grace under pressure" this waif is the zenith of courage with grace... enough said.
Thank you again Megan... All the best on your journey...
Beautifully done! I wonder how she would look with just the hint of a smile?
