If this will work on Canon 60D with EF mount with an adapter, I will take it. Not familiar with all the Nikon mounts.

LBRIII your Canon 60D is a crop frame with a 1.6x crop factor. What this means is the AF 60mm f/2.8D will have a 96mm angle of view and you are burdened with the extra weight of this superb Full Frame optic.

Will it work? Yes and no... It has no internal focus motor and relies on a camera body with a screwdriver motor so you'll be only able to use manual focus (which btw is not an issue for micro work).

However this lens has the rare attribute of edge to edge acuity! I have this lens and use it for full length commercial fashion assignments where it indeed it's stellar acuity captures the fine detail in a designer's textile artistry. Here manual focus would be a significant negative attribute.

One final question: I also have a Canon R, ignoring the autofocus, would it otherwise work using a mount adapter and the R adapter for EF lenses?

Jim I'm sorry I don't have access to a Canon R nor am I familiar with Canon's R adapter.
Hopefully others with Canon experience can field your query here...

I will share that this lens is recommended by Nikon for use with their ES-II slide copier so it's in high demand.
It works extremely well with the ES-II slide copier. (from experience)

Great lens. I purchased for studio work and found that it needed to be 'too close' to studio macro subjects. It was not the best lens for this selection of subject, close distance and camera placement. Unfair perhaps.

It is a great lens and performs well. No hesitation to highly recommend it to Nikon buyers.
