In Honor of Digital Photography and the Availability of Faster Shutter Speeds

While exposing images of a young college goal keeper with a modern digital camera and lens, I pondered our good fortune at having digital photography gain the popularity it has now, compared to when it was first introduced to the public. Camera manufacturers are currently producing excellent gear to fit our specific needs. I never cease to be amazed at what we have available to us in today's world.

The attached image was shot with a Sony A7R4 full sensor at 1/2000th of one second to stop action; at F4.0 for a little wider depth of field that F2,8; at ISO 3200 to allow the fast shutter speed and still get a good exposure and at 200mm distance due to new telephoto lens that is fast to focus. As a photographer, I feel fortunate to have observed the coming of age of digital photography and the joy it can give me and my fellow picture takers. The goalkeeper I gave this image to will be able to someday show his grandchildren what Grampa did forty years ago because some unknown photographer recorded an instant in time to be enjoyed for all of eternity.

Please enjoy the Christmas holidays and I hope you share some pictures of your families on UHH. Shooter41
