removing background with Pixelmator Pro

This is a new feature of the software and the background is very overexposed and cluttered. I told it to select the subject, then to remove the background. I did some minor adjustments to exposure, hue, saturation and so on but the big value of the experiment was the first two "tricks".

I'm sure there is other software that can do this, too. That said, the tendency to use AI or something close to it in the latest editors allows final output that I could not have done by hand. Perhaps someone a lot more skilled could have, but it would be well beyond my skills.

Anyhow, for your shared interest and amusement, here is Ariel again. For me, this treatment makes for more punch when viewing it. Your opinions will probably vary.
