Put up our Christmas tree on the patio to view through a glass door window. We don't have enough room in the LR so this works. Anyway, we also have a resident Hummingbird who likes to perch in our porch maple tree. It was a rainy day and I've been wanting to try out this old broken lens my brother gave me with a 2x teleconverter. It's a 1960-70's era Spiratone 85mm 1.8 that has a broken aperture so wide open shooting is all you get. Took a bunch of shots of this little guy but only one came out decent enough to work on. Ran it through Topaz Sharpen AI and did a mask just on the bird to sharpen it up. Did also run through Denoise AI but there's still some noise on the lights. Overall it came out pretty good though. Definitely a unique shot for the Holiday Season. Might make a card out of it. Enjoy! RJW
That's a really neat decoration to have on one's tree! Nice capture.
That is a unique picture. Congratulations on setting up and taking it. One for memory books!
Make that card! It’s perfect👍
I showed this beautiful photo to my SO, who has little interest in photography beyond liking some photos - I like to know car engines specs, she wants a blue one, kind of thing.
First reaction to your photo was " that's gorgeous, lucky man to have that opportunity and to have the skills to make the best of it. Definitely should be a Christmas card".
Possibly special enough to be sellable should you wish?
Well done...
Special shot for a couple of reasons. One the background works out really well. Two you rarely see a hummingbird perched on a tree. They are usually photographed in flight.
Just beautiful! What a great photo for a holiday card.
I love it!! Beautiful composition!! Everything came together perfectly for you...lighting, rain, and a sweet hummer. What a great day!
