Brackish Water Amoebas

I have been neglecting the "salt water" sample that I received from my granddaughter's aquarium. I took a look at it today. As expected I found it populated by very small organisms--at the limit of what I could see with my equipment. But as I scrolled along the side of a bit of decaying leaf, I saw a rather odd star-shaped amoeba. Then I saw several others. It amounted to a colony of amoebas obviously targeting the tiny flagellates occupying that part of the biome.

Thanks for posting. As long as you provide these videos I won't have to spend money on a microscope I really can't afford

If you want one, you can get a good-enough microscope for about $200, not that expensive.
