Wide Angle Lens for College Football?

When I walked the sidelines I carried a 24-70 2.8 on one camera body and a 70-200 2.8 on another body. The side angle came in handy for shots like this. They are running down the sideline for an easy touchdown, they are a good ten yards ahead of everyone who wants to stop them.

Very good shot! I photographed, baseball, basketball soccer, lacrosse and volleyball with those same lenses. Great combo!
