A friend made an interesting statement the other day. He said he's going to live this holiday season as if it was going to be his last. He's not sick, but he doesn't want to put off making the holidays a really big deal. He said that in the past, it was always "next year." So he decided that this will be the year. I might try that myself.

Nope. Live EVERY day as if it will be your last. Holidays are simply occasions for retailers to get rich.
