2022 object selection not working. Hovering over took icons tool activates the moving circle and the object light up when little circle stops twirling. However, clicking the selected object does not produce marching ants selection. The photo then moves over/to the opening page (where past photos etc. are shown), It then freezes up computer completely. Have called And spoken to Adobe and entered a request in Adobe forum several days ago. No answer.. Can anyone tell me how to fix?
Windows 10, 32G RAM, NVidia Gforce 750 GPU.
Thanks if you can or thanks for trying

Mine is working. I select the new Object Selection tool from the three choices nested with Quick Selection and Magic Wand tools. Then I put the mouse crosshairs on the subject. It turns to a bluish color. A left mouse click brings out the marching ants.

I've noticed a couple times it seemed to be not working because the background layer is not selected.

As already stated, make sure you have selected a pixel based layer, not necessarily the background layer.

Still doesn't work, photo is transferred onto the opening screen. No marching ants. Even the Adobe guy had no answer, nor did the Adobe forum so far

There are a couple long standing "fixes" for when Adobe apps have unexplainable habits. One is to reset the preferences. There is a combination of keys you hold down while starting the program. The downside is that if you have a favorite combination of preferences you've built over time, you loose them.

The other is the classic complete uninstall followed by a re-install. The CC app makes that easy.

Uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop 2022 now no selections work. Never had this problem on this computer for any other program, previous photoshop, Davinci Resolve, lightroom Looks like the new photoshop has some major bugs in it. Will have to go back to previous Photoshop if it is available

You can download older versions of photoshop.
I have a 2019 Macbook pro that runs the latest Photoshop
I have a 2011 iMac and it won't run anything above 2020 photoshop.

At first when I tried the new masking option I too couldn't get the marching ants. I found I have to double click while inside the selected area.

Just saw this min requirement for Windows
Processor IntelĀ® or AMD processor with 64-bit support; 2 GHz or faster processor with SSE 4.2 or later
Operating system Windows 10 64-bit (version 1909) or later; LTSC versions are not supported

Not sure if that helps.
