Camera manual to ipad: Does anyone know if it is possible to download a camera manual (Canon 7D) to an ipad 2 (with Adobe Reader installed). If so how do you do it. I can't get it to...

Does anyone know if it is possible to download a camera manual (Canon 7D) to an ipad 2 (with Adobe Reader installed). If so how do you do it. I can't get it to do so. I have a Windows 7 laptop but I tried to download direct to the ipad without success.

I'm not sure if this of any help but I save my camera manuals to Dropbox (cloud app) on my iMac and then sync to my iPad. The manuals are there on the iPad whenever I want them. Should work for a PC I imagine.

Or email yourself the link and open it in iBooks, it copes with pdf marvellously

I have an app in my iPad called GoodReader that allows me to read any PDF document (among other formats). Once the app installed, I open iTunes (I'm using a mac, but probably it's the same in a PC), I go to my iPad device section and in App -> File sharing I can browse any document in my mac and load it to GoodReader in the iPad.

Ditto Good Reader is a great app, I use it for all owner's manuals and many other documents.

I don't know if Canon has a similar app, but I have Nikon Manual viewer in the Ipad and iPhone. Download any manual, indek links area clickable to get you where you want to be. A small, quick app that is handy and FREE!

Just drag the PDF file onto th iPad in iTunes and it appear in iBooks Library.

I am reading (from my IPad) an ebook titled Canon 7d Experience: The Still Photagraphers Guide to Operation. I purchased it from the Amazon Kindle Book Store. It is great....

The book has various links to Canon. One link just brought me to the manual down load site where I learned thatbthenmanual is not compatible with OS format. Is there a way around it... I am unsure but this is a great eBook

I am using the iPad 3 running IOS 6. There are several ways to get the PDF into a program on my iPad. The easiest way is to open the PDF from an email or a web browser, tap in the upper right corner of the PDF (about where you see the 'Open In...' buttons are in the attached screen dump) and the buttons will appear. If only the Open In 'iBooks' buttom appears, it just means that IOS 6 thinks that you don't have any other PDF reading apps install. Click on the button on the farthest right and a window will open showing the possible apps to load the PDF. My two favorites are iBooks and File Viewer.

I'm new on the forum and would like to suggest Evernote. I use it for everything and it can store and index pdf's among other file types. The reason I like it is that it will make all your notes searchable, even photos with text in them. It is cross-platform and will work on Windows, OS X, iOS, Android, and others. The free version will store text, pictures, and PDF's. The paid version will store many more file types. I have been using it for over three years and recommend it highly.

HaroldRoss had the correct answer if you don't wish to purchase any additional apps to accomplish this. I will add that you can do the same thing with every version of the iPad including the original one. I have not only my camera manuals on my iPad but several other manuals as well. :thumbup: :thumbup:

Open camera manual on the PC and send it to your Evernote email and it will sync with Evernote on the iPad
Don't need a PDF downloader
Also download kindle app and kindle for the PC and go to amazon kindle and but the manual you like
It will sync with 3or more devices
I get books on my iPhone and Ipad and PC all for one price
But Evernote is killer

On my tablet I plug it into the pc's usb port then look for the tablet in "my computer". Then I copy and paste to the documents folder on the tablet
