I've been looking at this lens for quite a while, finally "pulling the trigger" and buying one from KEH. It was advertised as "BGN", but it functions perfectly, doesn't have any apparent problems, and only a couple of minor scuffs on the included lens hood. A couple of test shots last night produced very nice results.
Most of my macro photography has been done with a Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G, and a Sigma 180mm f/3.8. Both of these have worked perfectly for me. I've read several articles on the 70-180, and the articles have all mentioned the 6T close-up lens.
Have any of you used the 6T in combination with the 70-180, and what are your opinions, emotional outbursts, etc.?
CORRECTION
Thanks for the catch. The correct nomenclature is "6T".
Nikon F-mount lenses cannot mount directly onto an EOS T6 with an EF/EF-S mount. Possibly, you've made a few typos, or you're about to be rather disappointed.

The Nikon 6T close up lens allows 1:1 with the lens the OP just bought. This is mentioned in Ken Rockwell's review, and here is a link to where to buy one. Scroll down and read the description.

I bought a Nikon 70-180 new when they were originally announced. I have used it often with a 6T and others and been happy. It’s a great lens. It is, as you undoubtedly know, screw focus. You should have no complaints with that combo.

I have several sets of those. I'm not familiar with your lens but if it takes a 52 mm screw in filter I have a complete set in the Nikon boxes

Thanks, but the 70-180 requires 62mm filters.
Ordered one from Used Photo Pro last night. It should be here in the next couple of days.

Cool I bought the ones I have when I first started my photography addiction about 3 years ago. I've done the reversing ring add on magnifying like the lens you are adding and obliviously a Nikon 105mm macro. Someday I would like to have a 200mm Nikon micro but I can't justify the cost after buying mostly wildlife lenses. I have a 300-800mm f5.6 Sigma that is actually amazingly sharp although it weighs almost 13lbs. Lol. Anyway BEST of luck in your journey. I do enjoy a reversing ring but dof is so slim it's not really usable unless using a rail and stacking. Best to you. Sorry I couldn't help.
