The weather warmed up in St Cloud this afternoon and I took advantage of that to do a photoshoot with two lovely young ladies, Brynea and Greta. Used my trusty Godox AD360 in a Triopo 65cm softbox.

Wonderful synergy with Brynea and Greta... epic radiant smiles...
Loving the perfectly placed symmetrical vanishing point perspective composition in the first image...
Epic illumination with superb balance between your speedlight/strobe and ambient.... Just the right touch!

A note on wardrobe:
In our studio prior to a session we always advise the talent to bring flesh colored undergarments.
Actually if they're agency they're completely use to working sans same... Just a thought Wayne...

Wardrobe is an integral component when collaborating with young women...
And a very good reason to have a female makeup artist or wardrobe stylist on set.

Again it's always a pleasure viewing the progression of your exciting journey Wayne
Thank you so much for sharing...

I always appreciate reading your suggestions to improve my own technique.
With regard to make-up & wardrobe, I'm not in a position to afford a make-up artist or robe stylist, so I have to make do with what my subject wears on person or face. It's still fun to try and shoot with what's available, though, and work on lighting and mood. Thanks again.

NY there are lots of emerging talent in hair and makeup artistry.
They are totally fine with doing "Creative Testing" meaning all team members bring their special talent to the mix.
There is no exchange of money involved... in legal parlance this is called "Pro-Bono" i.e. for the common good.

Look for institutions in your market that teach cosmetology... either hair and/or makeup... I hold a Cosmetologist license in Makeup from the state of Maryland which allows me to work in Beauty Salons... I initially started building my Bridal Makeup "Book" through creative testing...

As for wardrobe? Look for local fashion designers in your market... They would cherish having their textile artistry showcased in your fashion narratives... Albeit typically you'll pay to have the garment(s) professionally cleaned before returning.

Hope this helps (both NY and Wayne)
All the best on your journey

Thank you for the information, it is very useful. The young lady’s mother is very overbearing, I mentioned the bra to the mother and she verbally berated the daughter for wearing the wrong bra. So, after that I kept my mouth shut. For every pose I shot of the girls, I had to do the same pose with her (the mother) as the model. She (the mother) was very pushy, she questioned everything I did. The girls on the other hand were a pleasure to work with.

Wayne maternal instincts can some times be rather strong have to be patiently overcome...

My solution? Typically we have a suite of concept images also known as a "Story Board" assembled prior to a session and run them by all team members for review and comment. Often we revise the Story Board as a result of said feedback. If the young ladies are under 18 then mom likely has to sign their model release (something to keep in mind).

Now if mom is paying for the session and the deliverables then her expectations must not only be meet but ideally exceeded. However if this is a "Creative Test" in which no money is exchanged then all parties have a say in the narratives (within reason). For commercial work typically there is a contract offered for agreement and acceptance. No surprises when everyone is on the same page.

Once you start working with agency models everything changes. In major markets there are indeed models who are known as "Emancipated Minors" While minors are normally considered legally incompetent to enter into contracts and to handle their own affairs. Emancipation overrides that presumption and allows emancipated children (minors) to legally make certain decisions on their own behalf such as signing model releases. I have to deal with this when working with agency talent in my market...

That said I always put the talent's best interest ahead of all else... What goes around comes around.
Many of my best friends I initially meet on set... and our relationship as grown over the years.

Oh, standard wardrobe for models to carry besides flesh color under garments is a "tube top" which is typically worn on beauty genre themes where bare shoulders are germane.
This list goes around the block... again why photographers should work with seasoned Hair and Makeup artist... They will train you as to what is best and most appropriate.

Hope this helps...
And yes those young ladies certainly appeared to enjoy the session!
Good Show!
