https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrdb82GanHIThe little mud puddle I created has developed a sheen and some fairly dense layers of translucent flakes on its surface. This signals the extensive development of biofilm. When I examined samples of the surface water I found large numbers of string-like bacteria swarming. Through low power I could see streams of dots which turn out to be bacteria. The ciliates which circulate over the water do not seem happy. A number of them have resorted to cystation.
