"NikonUSA.com shows they have theirs in stock @ $69.95" Thanks Stardust... You beat me to this...
https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/batteries/en-el25-rechargeable-lithium-ion-battery.html

Would I trust an Off-Brand electrical component in a $5K camera? Absolutely not!
Albeit a $1K camera? My Dad always said "you pay your money and make your choice"
B&H was giving away Watsons with a purchase of a D610...
Tried it... It started to get weird after several charges... Refused to reset the Image Counter to zero (it constantly went to 32). That did it for me... When I gave my second shooter my D7000 after my experience with Watsons I wouldn't think of giving her the Watson as a spare.

btw, All my Nikon Pro-Bodies are refurbished from Nikon USA...
Nikon USA has had a stellar track record for me in way over a decade.
That said if you're not shooting commercially then "Go for it..." you'll not be losing a client if the off brand fails.
Although if the Z FE "clone" i.e. Zfc fails Nikon could refuses to honor your warranty because of your use of a non-Nikon authorized part? Think carefully here

Hope my experience helps here...
All the best with your "Chic" Nikon FE clone Davey

Yes, Nikon says it is in stock with a 3-5 day process time and I ordered one last night. However, while I hope I'm wrong, I'm willing to bet I won't get it anytime soon. I also have one on order from Unique Photo for over two weeks and it still says "in process". Clearly they don't actually have it in stock but didn't indicate it was backordered. I also have two ordered from B&H but at least they indicate it is a backordered item.

My Kastars have worked great for me for over 2 years with my Canon 6D and 77D, as well as my LED lights.

I am asking you all for your experience with Kastar batteries. Kastar is the only one I can find - no Watsons so far.
The OEM EN-EL 25 has been on back order at B&H since August when I bought my Nikon Zfc. I always carry a spare battery when out shooting and want to buy a spare that will do until the supply of Nikon OEM batteries opens up again. Your counsel is appreciated. Thank you.

I buy kastar batteries and chargers for all my cameras. They are good quality and last. Never had a problem.

Travel Photographer Youtube Dave Morrow has used Kastar batteries long time, takes several on hikes. I bought and used three now for a couple years.

Have used a lot of generic batteries in my Nikons, Sonys, & now GFX100s: no problem with any of them ( Kastar, BM, Wasabi, etc)

By the way Wasabi site shows they do sell them, sold out, arriving late Oct if to be believed.

I looked at nikonusa at 0945 PDT and if you read the fine print it says that battery, en-el 25 is on backorder. chase

It changed from last night. Yesterday Nikon indicated it was in stock so I purchased one on the off chance they actually had some, but I'm not hopeful.

I ordered one from Nikon. Their website is not the easiest in the world. Double billed, typical customer service phone call (s).
They said nothing about back order.

Hey Davey guess what? I just got a UPS notice that the battery has shipped. I ordered it on Nikon's site last night probably after you did. Hopefully you will get yours as well. I guess they had a few left.

After reading your post I went to the Nikon site and ordered one. I assumed it would be back ordered even though it indicated it was in stock. And of course today the site does say back ordered. However I just got a UPS notice that the item was shipped. I hope they sent me the right battery. In any case thanks for your suggestion.
