A few days ago we had a great storm build up all around us. It didn't look like much from the ground but I had a feeling that from the air I might see more of what was going on. I took off not long before sunset and I was well rewarded with some amazing lighting scenes.

There was thick dark could to the west but the sun was close to setting so was lighting up the lower section of the storm cloud to the north on the lake. The clouds to the NW were dumping a lot of rain and you could see sheets of it dropping into the lake. To the east, Cleveland had a large dump of rain behind it as you can see in the photo.

I took about 8 shots and stitched them together in Photoshop. Though there was more stuff to the west, if I were to include that as well this pano would have been simply too wide. As it is it was about 86 inches by 24 inches and over 30GB in size. I had to reduce the size quality and DPI to get it to be able to load here. Hope you enjoy it, it is roughly from the NW right around to the east.

You took an eight-shot panorama from a moving airplane?!! I'm impressed. Would enjoy seeing it in "Download."

Rich, my plane is at an airport 50 minutes to my SW so I would not have made it there before sunset, much less got it out and in the air. I only had about 20 minutes from the time I saw things coming together from the ground, until the sun had set and heavy rain and wind set in, so I took my drone up to quickly get the shots and took these images at 375 feet AGL.

I see that this image is not possible to be enlarged, I had not realized that. I will try and upload it here again so that you can enlarge it and see more detail. Of course what I upload here is still a much lower quality than the original image. The drone has a Hasselblad camera fitted and even in a simple JPEG, the original file is over 30GB in size.

I hope I can manage to upload here so that you guys can enlarge it to see things better and thank you all for your kind words.
