August from last year, that is. Hey, I’m slow!
First up is winged form of a bark louse. The species is Cerastipsocus venosus.

At a different place I came across a spider that had managed to take a bark louse. The large white triangle on the wing identifies it as a male. The spider is unknown, but it does resemble one of the running crab spiders. All the legs are pretty long, and the 2nd leg looks longer than the first. The spider was moving pretty quickly along the branch, hauling its prey with it.

Next up are eggs – stink bugs or something similar would be my guess.

Here are a bunch of moths that were sheltering under loose tree bark. I don’t have a specific ID, but they look to be in the dagger moth group.

And finally, there is this strange moth that turned up on the porch. I’ve seen them before, but now was a chance to settle in and take hand stacked pictures. This is the dark-spotted palthus, Palthis angulalis.

Excellent images! I have a long way to go to get photos like these, but I keep practicing, so maybe someday.

Wow photos!! These photos would make biology classes more interesting for students.
Warning... the eggs are just like those in Aliens the movie.

I am always surprised that spiders punch well above their weight, even with flying insects.
