As a child (1950's) I lived in the Applegate area of Southern Oregon, on a small dairy farm. I few years ago I had the opportunity to visit the farm (ahh, nostalgia), and saw this house a couple of miles up the road. Odd that I do not remember it at all from my childhood. Whenever I see abandoned homes, I wonder at the first family who lived there, excited to move into a brand new house and start a new life, go to the tiny school, meet the neighbors, and whatever became of them, what the circumstances were that led to the house being abandoned. As we poked around the building, being careful not to fall through floors or cause a wall to fall, I nearly bumped into a deer!
