During my time at Conowingo Dam I witnessed a Cormorant being tangled in a fisherman's line. The fisherman pulled it in and with the help of another fisherman cut it free. The Cormorant flew off without a thank you!!
As some who had a parrot if you ever get in that situation putting a towel over his head usually calms the bird down enough to make it safer for both of you

Thanks for looking in, Eugene. While viewing the proceedings I was concerned but the fishermen had many tools in their kits, including scissors, and they very quickly freed the cormorant - I expect that there was minimum trauma to the bird - maybe more to me!
