Iphone photo of the New York World Fair centerpiece. Not usually a phone shooter but I guess its time to get with the program.
I found a gold charm of this sphere! I attended the World's Fair while fogged in at JFK. We had about six hours free, had a Belgian waffle, and raced back to the airport. Thanks for the memory jog!
Went there a a kid. Today most of the grounds are gone but there's still a huge park around the Unisphere. Always see it when driving to Kennedy Airport; this is the first time since 1964 I've been able to view it from ground level. It's still awe-inspiring.

My (now) wife sold those waffles! You may have bought it from her. Cute brunette, green eyes, dimples…ring a bell?😂😳
Thanks. Still not comfortable with phone photography. I plan to return with my DSLR in the near future.

I went to that fair with my aunt and mom when I was young.
Went there as a child several times in the early 1960's. Dad worked for the railroad so we just walked a couple blocks to the train station, took the train to Philadelphia, then another to New York and then another to Long Island, all for free. Dad had a pass.
There's a smaller version of the globe at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa.
Didn’t know it still existed. Visited the Fair between high school and college. Lived in NJ at the time.
I most recall some of the future oriented exhibits. Interesting how far off they were.
Still looks to be in good shape all these years later……..great shot.
