Finally made. Having no interest in mirrorless I finally took the plunge. Started with the Nikon D 5100, Then D7200 both bought new. Then a used D810 and yesterday I used some of that IRA money in the bank and got a new D850. So far so good. After the D810 the learning curve is not as bad as it could be.

Congratulations. It takes some getting used to with all those megapixels but you will come to love it.

You’ll love it — also build up some muscles, especially depending on what glass is on it 😜

What's all this fuss about "mirrorless"? My Kodak Signet is mirrorless, as is my phone!

Love the D850, IMHO, it is the best DSLR ever made. Took it to Iceland along with my D850, Nikon 24-120, and Nikon 500 5.6 PF lens, and a Polarizer Filter.
Below are some images of Vigor Island.
Enjoy the best DSLR ever made. Excellent choice. You have done well grasshopper.
First image was the Vigor Island welcoming committee.
Second is of the oldest working boat in Iceland.
Last image of the Northern most working windmill in the world.

There was zero mention of “mirrorless” so just get you back under your bridge.

Enjoy your new camera. Focus shift, tilting screen, IMO 1 better stop usable iso, slight faster fps if needed & 9 fps with the grip & enl-18 battery(though a little expensive) DSLR's have done fine for years & should continue to do so. Hopefully Nikon will offer service if needed well into the future. I shoot the D810 still & might do the same in the future. Have fun.

IMHO, the D850 is the very best camera for everything but sports action. I enjoy using mine as it produces great images with relative ease. I have also been enjoying my Z6 as of late, but it can't touch the ultimate image quality of the D850. Best of luck.

The original Op mentioned mirrorless in his seventh word.

Yes, I saw that. Hardly a mention. Very much a nonmention or antimention.

IOW not only is “mirrorless” not actively mentioned, it’s ruled out, banished. Kinda stoopid trolling, attempting to drag it into the thread about enjoying the D850.

I stick by my remarks.
