Roadtrip 27 Continued: Springfield Mo

Today will be the end of our 2021 out West Roadtrip because from Springfield to home was nothing but boring Interstate. It was a fantastic trip with good weather and a trip filled with diverse locations. We had great weather inspite of wild fires burning all around us in some places. We checked a few places off our bucket list and revisited some places that we had been to in the past. We collected many more Police Patches for our son's collection. The trip consisted of 33 days, 13 states and 7,776 miles of driving. Some of the things we experienced during the pandemic was Covid protocols were all over the place. Mask requirements in some places and no requirements in others. Restaurants lacking worker's in most places causing problems with service. National Parks very busy with tourists. All in all, we had a great trip and feel fortunate that we were able to do it. I'm glad you guys took time to review the photos and hear about some of our experiences. Until next time, Safe Travels Everyone!

You're doing a great job of taking pictures, processing, and posting. Lots of people post questions about how to save and process pictures while traveling. Could you do a post about how you are doing all of this? Like what gear you're using and your routine?

Thank You Jerry, As I have stated earlier, this trip took place starting the end of June and finished up August 1st. All of the images that I have posted have been edited once I got home. Generaly, when we are traveling I post very few images to social media. The reason being most of the time we run sun up to sun down and I'm too tired to be messing with photos after we eat dinner and get back to the hotel. I might take a peek at some and do some light editing with an IPhone app called Snapseed but not very much. In the past, We traveled with Portable hard drives and once I got back to the hotel I would load the SD card images to my laptop and then backup those images to the portable drive. It's work! This trip we decided to do something different. We traveled with alot of SD cards and just used those as our storage device. In all the years I have been using SD cards I've only had 1 fail on me. IPhone images were backed up to Amazon Prime Photos in the cloud. It was a much more enjoyable trip this time. After all, it's about the experience of the day and not necessarily about the photography of the day if that makes sense. I hope I answered your question, if not, just ask more and I will try to respond as detailed as I can.

Thank You Jay. Our process for finding Street Murals is this. When my wife has the trip planned out and where we will be making our pitstops for the night,we do research for Street Murals/Art in those towns or cities. Also research manhole covers for our feet shots. We record street addresses etc so we can find them again once we are there. Same process for getting from town to town. We do a search for murals in those small towns. Sometimes we find stuff other times we find it as we are driving through those towns. It's always a pleasant surprize to find one we didn't know about!
