Has anyone been to the Tetons recently? We were planning on going the first week in October, but wanted to make sure the smoke has cleared before we go......

Just check Mike Jackson's daily blog. He post photos daily, frequently states how much smoke, and much more.

I managed to run across Mike in the field this spring and get to meet and talk to him a bit. He and a client were photographing a hawk that was cooperating, so I joined in the fun. All of a sudden Mike looks up and spots a badger watching us a few yards away. So we went back and forth between hawk and badger for a while. He seems like a nice guy.

I was there from 8/24 to 8/30. It was very smoky for the first 4 days, then the wind changed and it got better. The smoke, combined with the altitude made it hard for me (74 year old living at sea level) to breathe.

In the late 80's we went to the Tetons....we spotted a Badger crossing the road right in front of us and it was wonderful to see one for the first time ever! I really enjoyed that moment, but later we were telling a Ranger about it & she said "No you are mistaken, we don't have Badgers here in the park...." I was pretty surprised but just told her "You do now!" LOL. glad to hear they are still there!

Badgers are pretty cool; they say that pound for pound the badger is the most ferocious animal on earth!!
