Those are the kind of stories we need more of! They don't sell as many newspapers as doom and gloom do so we most likely will continue to get one now and then when a friend posts one.

Never forget!

Forgetting is what gets the U.S. in trouble. The adage "Ignore history at your own peril.", certainly applies. We got in the same mess in Afghanistan, because someone forget just how nasty a prolonged war can be.

Watching the news everyday since we invaded Afghanistan, certainly looked like a replay of Viet Nam. Same mistakes, same old tired strategy of "nation building".

👍👍👍

It disgusts me to see him with our military folks!

Only 31 (about 2/3) of our presidents served in the military. You have to go back to George W. Bush for the last president that served, and he was in the National Guard and did not serve in a combat zone as I recall. His father George H W Bush was the last president who actually saw combat.

Generals win wars and politicians lose wars. We haven't won a war/conflict since WWII because Congress thinks they can run wars from their chairs in DC.

Head in the sand always works best, really? You go sit in a corner and forget.

What kind of useless deadwood was the guy patrolling with? My platoon never, EVER left anyone behind.

Amen my friend! We have never learned the art of kicking ass to make our point, then leaving. We don't want anyone to be mad at us, so we hang around after to be friends with them giving billions of dollars worth of aid that they can divert and steal, and huge quantities of military equipment and weapons that they can shoot at us as a signal that they don't want to be BFFs any more.

Lung issues are not phoney. Check out 45's phony deferments.
