While I was on vacation in New River Gorge WV, my sister and I went to Babcock state park and toured a grist mill. I got a bag of their cornmeal. I used my regular recipe and it turned out really well.
The basics and some AP flour, baking soda, sugar and salt.

Mixed up in my trusty bread bowl that was my grandma's. Let sit for 30 minutes before going into the oven.

Baked in cast iron pie plate and fresh out of the oven.

Excellent! Nothing like good Cornbread and I haven't made any in a while. Do you heat the iron on the stove, then add the batter for a couple of minutes before the oven? Trick I picked up somewhere.

Thanks for the comment QD. Yes I put the pan in the oven for about 10 minutes and then throw a knob of butter in it before adding the batter.
Looks good enough to eat. Where's the Chili?
Nice job on the pictures and the cornbread looks good.👍
Very nice set Jill the edges looking nice and crusty and the center soft and crumbled great for a big pat of butter.
Thx
Joe
