As I remember, there is a setting, but it also depends on exactly what your lens is capable of doing, some just won't move below a value, slop in gears?, whatever? You just try different values? Just got started with it, so maybe totally wrong on this, but no actual distance measure provided.

Thanks Bob. I think your comment about slop in gears in most lenses is probably valid. Perhaps the FB Tube is better suited to close-ups and scenics rather than extreme magnification applications.

The FB tube will never replace a micro rail for extreme closeups but for 1:1 it is more than adequate and a lot easier to use than the rail.

I use Helicon Focus all the time and generally like the results. But...sometimes there are blurry areas that occur in the final stacked image in all three modes. I stack using the auto focus bracketing mode on the Canon R5 in various aperture and shutter speed modes. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

Since they've been composited from multiples shots, we can't see EXIF data on these images.

What f/stop was used? What focal length? What are the distances in the first two images? How many images in each sequence?

The first image appears to have just one of the stack that wasn't successful. I don't see a problem in the 2nd image (but it also can't be enlarged for closer inspection, the way the other two can).

The third image has a whole bunch of "skipped" areas at different depths where the stacking didn't work, but it also covers a much greater depth than the other two images.
