I few years back I entered my dog Cooper in a Shooting Dog Championship that was held at Nod Brook, Simsbury, CT. Cooper took first place. In the second picture, Cooper had flushed the Chukar Partridge, and it shows that he was just about to catch it in mid-air. The other retrieve pics are of other birds. Sandy Kean, from Baskwoodphotos took pictures at the event, and forwarded me some pictures she took of Cooper in the field. I was going through our photos when I came across these that I think are worth showing off.......BadDog

Outstanding series!! Kudos. I see you're from my hometown. That second shot is phenomenal!!
Thanks for your comments. Cooper lives for this. He is a great companion, and goes most places I go off season. He sits up on the passenger seat, always looking out the windows to see what's going on. People say that Cooper thinks he is my son.
Manglesphoto, Your right, he is so fast that he catches most birds, on the ground or right after they take flight. At this event you were given four shells and fifteen minutes. I never fired a shot, and Cooper caught and retrieved eleven Chukars. The event is on a point system for certain actions. When they announced Cooper as the winner, I was surprised, and people were yelling Cooper shouldn't win, because I never fired a shot. The judges yelled back, "you just wish you had a dog like that"
Great action series, BadDog.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Yes, Cooper is a good dog most of the time. He becomes a bad dog when he steals butter off the counter. That dog just loves sticks of butter!
Nice dog. It is a thrill to watch a good bird dog work. They are having the time of their lives.
Well worth viewing these excellent captures!
