...late yesterday afternoon. And with the winds that accompanied the clouds, the smoke that's hung like a shroud were, for a while, displaced. The sky is why I reside where I've chosen to reside; the ways it interacts with the land, the ways it stages Greek tragedies one moment, then moments later take on different roles altogether, and morph into visual poems that rhyme the rhymes of Odes To Other Times. You could say I like it, but you'd be short by a thousand percent.

A simple climbing stroll off and away from the park road. Evening in Arches National Park.

The only thing that was memorable was the look on the face of the woman who was returning to her vehicle while I pulled in behind her parked vehicle. The 'place' is nowhere near any of the (EXTREMELY badly placed official 'pull-offs' the Park has provided) regular places anyone could, or should, park that allows for this or that sort of 'view.' Its hard to tell whether she might've thought I was an axe murderer looking to ply my trade, or whether she thought I was some 'official' come to bust her for parking in a place where people (other than me, of course) should not park. That look was memorable, whereas the views she viewed --and presumably, the shots she likely shot, a.e.b., the camera she was holding as she returned to her vehicle -- would not have been, given the conditions, particularly memorable. That's what was memorable.

You did well, some places she'd have thrown down on you. Your good humor must have shone through. Still think it a memorable photo!

You have no idea the gyrations I was forced to take to take advantage of that reignbow, Gal. Or maybe you do. I dunno. But as much as I do admire a good hunk of cake, given a choice between the two, I'll always prefer pi.

You missed the point. There is no icing on pi. Nor pie either.
But I'll let it go considering the quality of your photo.
I'm assuming the woman wasn't carrying a Nikon?
