Many who know me here will remember I struggle to make some good black and white photographs. I just had a roll of film developed and here are some of the results. I like these but they are more grainy than I expected. I used my Leica M6TTL with either a 28, 35 or 50mm Leica lens. The film was Ilford XP2 Super at 160 ISO.

Please let me know what you think.

Technically, digital images don't have grain, they exhibit digital noise. Did you scan the negatives or did you have someone else scan them? If you scanned them, you should have more control of the noise in the scanning process. However, if you had someone else scan them, they may not have taken much care to control the noise.

The custom lab that developed the film put the images on a disc. That is where the images came from though I do have the negatives.

Thank you Dick. I love black and white too. They are especially powerful to represent a dramatic photograph.
