In addition to my answer when we saw this elsewhere yesterday, I’d say yes, certainly, and it will make a very nice print. I noticed similar but less colourful effects with the fossils in our local stone here in Purbeck, UK, and posted one on UHH some long while back.

No, but I know what a star field looks like through the telescope and on film (oops, showing my age).
