I am totally confused by the shot and I don't think I like it. Sorry

Sorry Bob, I didn't mean to be that abrupt.

It has no context for me, I feel like I sat down in the middle of a movie. I don't know what it is supposed to represent. An abstract is not expected to have context but this IMHO is not an abstract. I don't think its a composite but rather a background with layers. It is technically interesting and shows skill and a ability. I'm not really explaining myself but I can't seem to do better.

Jack, thanks for the apology.

The scene is two mannequins dressed in attire that the store sells. Something that just caught my attention.

Something right next to a sidewalk.

I have to admit that I spent some time trying to make sense of this photo as well. Jack said he was confused, and I found that the reflections of the car and the street distracted me from the display. I also was unsure what you were trying to focus on. Is it the mannikins or the photo in the background or am I just over-thinking the whole thing.

Jack, Erich, and John, again, thanks for taking a look. It was certainly a departure from my usual photographic efforts. As Erich stated, I simplly found the collection of subjects in the photograph interesting. It was simply a scene I saw and photographed. I didn't read much more than that in it.

What might make this image confusing is that zero polarization filter was used, so you're getting some of the street/car etc in the glass, if the filter was used it would reduce or eliminate the excess noise. otherwise it looks like a photo copy from a news paper.

I particularly wanted the reflections.

Agreed. As an artist it's very difficult to convey what you're trying to others that may or may not understand your view point. I get this my self all the time. Struggling to convey what I've seen within a photo when others don't see the same thing. I think all of us need to put ourselves in the artist shoes in order to make better sense of what we're looking at. GL with your art.

Good discussion. It demonstrates that we all see based on our own experiences and without some kind of reference, some of us may be confused when seeing something new or different. I, for my part, see a window display trying to catch your attention to come into the store to purchase something if you are into the kind of product they are selling. But then, that was my business. I used to make window displays for stores in malls and stores that had large windows.

Isn't that interesting!

I like the treatment. :)

So were you going to that store for goods for yourself, or for you girlfriend?
