Mostly from the Monterey Ca. The last one just happened to fly over me while I was at the Point Lobos SNR just south of Monterey.
Really nice, even the last. CG helo.

Thank you Barbara... I'm lucky to get it. I was shooting seascapes so I had to change settings real fast when I heard it.
Good work, Frank, nice variety including that last one!

Thank you very much Mike. I appreciate it.
Your "ground owl" is a Burrowing Owl, Quite common through out the southwest. They live underground in "burrows" made by other animals. Have them in San Diego County and have seen them North in CA as far as Fresno and also in Arizona and New Mexico. Very common but elusive. Great photos.
Nice set, Frank. I'm partial to egrets in flight.

Thank you gastech. You're correct. The real name is burrowing owl. I forgot, we call them ground owls so much. I haven't seen any up her in Fresno/Clovis area. This one was in Arizona.
Thanks for the kind words...

Thanks Ken. Without your icon and your posts ( loved the blue ones) I would never have guessed you liked them.
btw they are one of my favorites too. There are lots of them sometimes here in Fresno and every once in a while on a walk, I'll see one, like I did here. Problem is, my longest lens is only 250 on my Canon, but I usually have the 18-140 on my Nikon, and with me most of the time, as I did in these.
Very nicely captured Frank!
Thanks for the thing up Frank.
