Hi SonnyE
Sorry to hear that you lost your puppy. Losing a member of the family like that is always difficult. My things quickly turn around for you in your time of mourning.
Thank You, Ballard.
Yes, like I told the Grandson, this is one of the hardest things to go through. Death is so final.
And we can do is to hold on to all the memories, the happiness, and the experience's he brought us.
Speedy was there when Chase caught his first Bass at 5 years old.
When Speedy first came home with me, Chase immediately went to work wanting him as his dog. His Mama brought him over and he ran in the house and asked Grandma, "Where is he, Grandma?"
Grandma told him, "Just watch he'll be right back." And speedy came running at full speed from the back bedroom, out and around the dining room table, and back down the hall. He made another lap, and on his 3rd lap up the hall Chase said, "WOW! He's Speedy!"
He skidded to a stop, he looked up at Chase, then looked up at me, and back at Chase, then back to me. And I said, "Do you like that name? Do you want to be Speedy?"
He was wags from the tip of his nose to the tip of his bushy curled up tail.
And that was how he got his name.
Chase's Dad said, "No more dogs!"
So Grandma said, "How about if he is Chase's dog that lives at Grandma's" And that is what he became after trying to place him with two parties. Grandma had a dream Speedy went to a home where he was abused. She told me that if he came back the second time, we're keepin him!
That made me really happy, because I loved the little guy and his great attitude.
The vet did a full work up on him, estimated his age at 6-8 months, so we gave him Chase's birthday to share.
Yep. The little guy is sorely missed. And will never be forgotten.
