Recently moved from Ohio to Florida, and in the process of moving, The moving company served the death noticed on my Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer. They packed it in a wardrobe box, woith other things, and did not wrap it at all. So, I need a new printer. I really liked that printer. Now, I am lookikng at the Cnaon Pixma Pro 200, and wondering if anyone has experience with that printer. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Bias here, I have used Epson printers over 30 yrs. I recently purchased an Epson P700 to replace an R3000 in use for several yrs. Repair was to high. This P700 produces phenominal photo prints. Drawback: 10 cartridges at $38 a pop. I also have an all-in-one for gp printing..

Had an Epson Inkjet printer. After printing several pages the black cartage would run out of ink leaving me to purchase a replacement cartridge for around $40.00 a pop which would only last for fifty sheets. Within a year I spent over $200.00 on replacement black cartridges while the rest of the color ones sat in the printer drying out not being used.
I came across a deal on a Xerox laser scanner/printer for around $130.00 and with the starter cartridge will print 2,500 pages before I have to change the cartridge and the replacement cartridge in under $50.00. Mostly all I am doing is printing in B&W so I purchased the laser printer and within 5 seconds after I press the print button I have the document. Pretty impressive for a laser printer with cheap cartridges which are cheaper than ink cartridges.

The Pro-200 has good reviews. You might want to save the printhead and if you have OEM cartridges from the 100.
If you refill, you can use your 100 carts, by taking the chips from the 200. That way you can see the ink levels. The 200 carts are opaque.

I have the new Canon prograf 300 printer and it's really good. I had the Pro 10 before that but it died after 6 years of good constant use. Both made and make wonderful prints. The 300 costs $200 more but it's worth it I think. Good luck.

You know, I have that printer, the Pixma Pro 100, and just don't use it that much. Don't know where you moved to in Florida but are you interested in purchasing this same unit?

I gave up on cartridge printers and their unreasonable cartridge cost (and how some printers will not work now unless you use the OEM cartridges). Bought an Epson ET-3760 with tanks. It’s surprising how they cost significantly different from supplier to supplier. Now I have thrown out two HP all-in-ones and have an HP Laserjet Pro M451dw and a Canon Pixma MP620 just sitting by watching the more economical Epson printing happily. (Costco online was the lowest price last month.)

A friend and photography mentor, a retired professional photographer, just bought a new Epson printer because his old printer, another Epson is starting to get old. The old one still prints beautiful prints up to 13X19 but he is afraid it will give up the ghost just when he needs it. His NEW Epson printer that also produces beautiful prints is the XP15000. I have seen prints from it and they are spectacular. I have not looked it up for price but he waited until Best Buy put it on sale for, I believe, $249.99. I am thinking of buying one myself when they are that price.

Refill your own. I’ve been refilling my Canon for about 3 or 4 years now with no problems.

How about posting a picture showing exactly where you drill the hole in the cartridge. I bought a refill kit and ended up with a little mess.

Go to one one Jose Rodriguez's videos, and you will see how to do it. You might also try one of Mike Lee's from Precision Colors videos. Use a 5/32" drill for plastic, not a metal drill and follow the directions. If you don't drill straight, you will have a leak. You can always seal the hole with silver a/c tape or hot glue.
