https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-669025-1.html I posted this topic in the reference section because we're watching and using these sites to check how the weather is going to be for our next vacation, how much haze is in the area and how the jet stream is moving.
https://fire.airnow.govhttps://smokymountains.com/fall-foliage-map/https://www.wunderground.com/maps/wind/jet-streamWhy are these sites and a few others important, these elements can reek havoc on a photography plans of getting a clear blue sky during his exploration. As of yet, we haven't decided what direction we'll be heading this year. But I suspect it going to be somewhere anywhere there's no smoke/haze or bad weather.
Book mark these sites and make plans for your next photoshoot and if you ever wonder why that image didn't turn out.. might be haze or other weather factors you didn't check before leaving.
I just returned from a rafting trip in Desolation Canyon.

fire map is useful. I spend the summers in Island Park Idaho and it is hazy from the smoke from far off fires.
Which ever direction we travel, I would like to hope anyone here would be willing to meet up for a group photo tour within their state. So post your state and the desire to have a photo group tour your state while we travel the united states.
Checked the fire site this morning and it's every photographers nightmare. The entire Untied States is blanketed in smoke. For those of you who don't know what this means, it means if you're asking for a clear blue sky day, you're not going to get it. No matter where you turn you're going to have haze in your images and no amount of PP "dehazing" afterward will get rid of it.
I just pray that when it's our time to travel, I hope the direction we've set for ourselves rewards us with some blue skies.
Oh almost forgot, that smokeymountain fall color site? We've used this site for 4 years and each time, it's been wrong, So I wouldn't trust that site anymore.
Some serious Plumes west of the Mississippi river this morning.
https://fire.airnow.govif you're traveling in the next few weeks, best head south and east.
