GBH vs snake

Always stop and see what these herons are snacking on. I thought that this one had maybe met his match...the snake stayed wrapped around his beak for a couple of minutes. I could hear the heron grunting in frustration.....

Great shots - but no spaghetti for the foreseeable future 😟😟😟

Great sequence. I have photographed a large snake completely wrapped around a Great Blue's head and all the way down the neck of the bird. The snake was at least 4 ft long and of sizable girth. I don't think the little snake in your image had a chance.
