Caffeine increases the power of aspirin and other painkillers, that is why it is found in some medicines.

It works for me. I drink coffee with my pain meds.

I've heard that troops marching in step across a bridge theory is not accurate. If all it took to bring down a bridge was vibrations, why ever bomb one, just vibrate it down.

Mythbusters did a test of that, and the results were inconclusive.

"Zero is the only number that cannot be represented by Roman numerals."

Actually, there are an infinite number of numbers not represented by Roman numerals as there is no way to represent a negative number.

I suppose the number of troops and the type of bridge construction might have something to do with it.

This one also seems unlikely to say the least:
"If you get into the bottom of a well or a tall chimney and look up, you can see stars, even in the middle of the day."

There is a canyon in the Zion Canyon National Park that is called the Narrows. It is where the you are wading through water up to your chest. The river you are in is called the Virgin River and at that point there is only water and no land, hence the wading. It becomes rather dark in there and if you look up even though it is daytime you will see the stars.

That black tarnish on silver is silver sulfide, not oxide. Before the industrial revolution silver did not normally tarnish in the air unless you lived near a volcano, burning coal increased the sulfur content of the air to the point that silver would tarnish.

Iron Rust is an oxide of iron that forms in the presence of water; however, water is a catalyst and takes no part in the chemical reaction. Silver
usually needs Hydrogen Sulfide to tarnish. The big difference is that iron will continue rusting while the metals that are subject to tarnish will only do so only in the extreme outer layer. The one layer protects the metal from further damage.

An excellent explanation of the distinction.

Guns are blued or browned with acids to cause a rust coating to protect them from further rust damage.
I never had the opportunity to look up a chimney but have seen Venus on clear sunny days. You must know the exact place to look so you can place your most light sensitive part of your retina (fovea centralis) exactly on the planet.

Silver oxide is still tarnish. It's just that the silver oxide tarnish is so thin, there is no real <visible> color to it, silver sulfide is thicker. So what you SEE is silver sulfide.

Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.
