Youtube is like Google with movies and sound. Is your tub drain clogged? A youtube video told me how to clear the clog and never need draino again. Is your patio umbrella busted? Youtube told me how to fix it. Did the tire fall off your riding mower? Youtube told me how to get it back on the rim and inflate it. Youtube told me how to use Photoshop and Premiere Pro without having to read a manual. Youtube has great interviews of veterans of wars, historical figures, artists of all kind. It's probably the new 8th wonder of the world.

I have been in the business for over four decades as a professional photojournalist and a photography professor . I have used many of his excellent videos and tutorials to help my students understand many concepts.

If you look at any youtuber's body of hundreds of videos, you always find some where they got something wrong, they are human and make mistakes. I assume you are also human and made a few mistakes too.

I follow many fellow pros on youtube and he is one of the better ones. Ones like Tony and Chelsea Northrup have just lost all my respect for accuracy , they are simply out for clickbait to make money from their 2 million subscribers, and they aren't even caring about facts or proper test methodology anymore.

Cheers

No. He doesn't just make an occasional mistake. When he presents info on hardware like what to shop for in a tripod he's fine and he has lots of those types of videos. But he's also a big spreader of misinformation. He doesn't understand ISO and he presents misinformation time and again. He has a video on SNR that's nothing short of fantasy nonsense. In one minute he tries to define exposure and gets it wrong. His video on exposure compensation is handing out misinformation. I've watched enough of his videos. I'd keep my students away from him.

I take photos with my micro four thirds camera that you cannot even TRY to shoot with a FF camera. Or if you try, you will crash your car. Trip to Philadelphia and back, 450 photos, zero accidents.

Uh huh... FF is for truckers.

The connection between yewtoob and a clogged drain makes a whole lotta sense.

A bit of hair splitting here, but every camera technically uses "full frame" photography. Each camera has a certain sized sensor and they each use all of the area of the sensor (or very close to the whole sensor) to record the image. Therefore all cameras use (their) full frame.

The way I make the distinction of whether a camera is Full frame or crop is this. M43 and 43 are not crop because the sensor and the lenses are made for each other. Now the Nikon DX and the Canon APS-C are crop because the lenses many of them would provide a larger image circle than the sensor can capture. Even if you use lenses with the correct image circle still the lens mount was designed for a larger format so I call it crop.

Do your own facebook channel and create and shoot over 380 videos and we all here in UHH will be the first to scrutinize every one of yours and let's see how well you do. Get a life. Stop criticizing those who have made the efforts and are respected in the business.

Cheers

No. I've had to pay a penalty because of people like him spreading rubbish and misinformation over the internet. For that I will call out the nonsense when I encounter it.
