I took a lot of medium and large format film pics of the UP 844 Northern locomotive in 2005 but, other than develop the film, had done nothing with them. I've been photographing the negs lately and will post quite a few close up images, starting with these three. I posted them in the Train section also.
I think I'm getting more detail by photographing the negs than I did with my marginal scanner (Epson 2450). Even tho the files are a little smaller, they are large enough for anything I plan to do with them.

Yes, there would be little to gain from a higher resolution scan since we can already see everything.
