I have used a Dell XPS 8900 for my main system since 2015. It has been solid until yesterday. When I powered it up, the Dell logo was distorted. When Windows 10 started, the distortion was cleared. It happened again this morning. I have run all of the diagnostics provided by Dell and have even stress tested the GPU and monitor to no avail (expected since those diagnostics run under Windows). Every startup or restart displays a distorted Dell logo. When Windows takes over, the distortion disappears. To me, this implies that the problem lies with the motherboard, either hardware or BIOS. Does anyone know how I can determine the cause more specifically?
FWIW: Windows 10 version 21H1, all drivers, and BIOS are up to date.
